Comparison microscope

A comparison microscope is like two microscopes glued together, and you can look at two things at the same time to see if they're the same or different. It has two eyepieces for two people to look through at the same time. Each eyepiece looks at a different microscope lens that helps us see tiny things better.

So, if you have two hairs, or two fibers, that you want to compare to each other to see if they look the same, you can put one hair in one side of the microscope and the other hair in the other side of the microscope. By looking through the two eyepieces at the same time, you can see how different or similar the two hairs are.

This is really important when identifying things like hair fibers, fibers from clothing or carpets, or even tiny bugs. Scientists, doctors, and forensic investigators use comparison microscopes all the time to compare two things side by side and look for any little differences. It's like having a super-powered magnifying glass to help us see small things better and compare them to other things.
