ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Computational phylogenetics

Computational phylogenetics is like making a family tree. It is a way to figure out the relationships between different types of animals, plants, and other living things. We look at characteristics like the shape of their bodies, the types of food they eat, and the ways they move, to learn more about how species are related and how they evolved over time. Computers help us figure out and visualize these relationships, just like a family tree.
