Consumerism means buying a lot of things. People often buy things because they like them or because they think it makes them look cool. Some people buy more things than they need, which can cause them to get into debt or not have enough money to pay their bills. Consumerism can also have a bad effect on the environment because it takes a lot of resources and energy to make those things.
