ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Covert racism

Covert racism is when people treat someone differently or unfairly because of their race, but they don't say or do anything that is obvious. It can be hard to recognize because it is not overt, or obvious. For example, someone might treat a person of color differently than they treat their white friends or colleagues, but do it in a way that is hard to prove. It could be refusing to hire someone of color, not inviting them to events, or making jokes about their race. Covert racism is wrong and hurtful.
