Cultural lag is when certain parts of a culture don’t change quickly enough to keep up with other parts of the same culture. Imagine it like an old fashioned train with a lot of different train cars. Some cars go faster than others and they can get further ahead. That’s what happens when part of a culture moves ahead faster than other parts – one part can be way ahead of the other. For example, a culture might have really modern technology, but it might still have old-fashioned traditions and customs. That’s cultural lag!
