Damsel in distress

Damsel in Distress is a story or movie trope where a woman needs to be saved by a hero character. Usually, the protagonist is a prince or knight who is on a quest to find or rescue a princess or other female character. The damsel in distress often needs help from the hero to escape a dangerous situation or she is kept under guard and the hero needs to rescue her. Sometimes the woman is put in danger by a villain or she is kidnapped. In the end, the hero character saves the day and the handsome prince rescues the damsel in distress.
