ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Deindividuation

Deindividuation is when someone acts in a different way than they normally would. It usually happens in a group and makes people feel less self-conscious. For example, if you go to a party with a group of friends, you might be more likely to dance, speak up, or be more outgoing than you usually are because you aren't paying as much attention to how people think of you as an individual.
