Democratic ideals

Democratic ideals are things people believe in and think of as important when it comes to running a country. It means that everyone, including all the people living in the country, get a chance to have a say in how the country is run. This means everyone is treated equally and that everyone should have the same respect and rights, no matter how rich or poor, what color their skin is, or how old they are. In a democracy, every person's vote needs to count, and the majority of people in the country need to agree on the laws, rules, and decisions.
