A digital outcrop model is like having a toy mountain that you can look at on a computer. Scientists use special cameras and software to take lots of pictures of a real mountain or rocks outside. Then they put all those pictures together on a computer to make a 3D model that you can zoom in, zoom out, and spin around to look at from different angles. This helps scientists learn more about what the mountain or rocks are made of and how they formed, even if they can't go there in person.
