ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Don't ask, don't tell

Don't Ask, Don't Tell was a law in the United States that said a person in the military couldn't say that they were gay or bisexual. They also weren't allowed to talk about their relationships with people of the same sex. This law said that if you didn't say anything, then the military wouldn't punish you. In 2011, this law was changed and now people in the military don't have to hide their sexuality.
