Dune

Dune is a science fiction book written by Frank Herbert. It's set in a distant future where a powerful family, called the Atreides, is sent to take over the planet Arrakis. The planet is home to a valuable substance called "spice," which gives people expanded mental powers, long life, and immortality. But the planet is also full of dangerous creatures and forces of nature, like sand worms and storms. The Atreides must try to protect the spice and survive on the harsh planet. The story follows the battle for power and control between the Atreides family and their enemies, as well as the characters' personal journeys.
