ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Dwarfing

Do you know how different plants and animals come in different sizes? Some plants are tall and some are short, and some animals are big and some are small, like elephants and mice. Dwarfing is when people take certain types of plants and make them smaller than they would normally grow in the wild.

So, let's say you have a giant tree that usually grows very tall. If you want to make it smaller, you might cut off some of the branches or roots, or change the way it is watered and cared for. This could make the tree grow to be only a few feet tall instead of growing into a giant.

People do this because they want to be able to grow more plants in a smaller space or because they want a certain size or shape for gardening or landscaping. Dwarfing can also make the plant easier to care for because it requires less space and maintenance.

Overall, dwarfing is just a way for people to control the size and shape of certain plants, similar to how you might shape your hair or trim your nails.
