ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

EEG

Hey kiddo, have you ever heard of something called EEG? It's a really cool way we use to study someone's brain activity.

So, you know how you have an electric current flowing through the wires in your home? Well, your brain produces its own type of electric activity too! And we can use special machines called EEG (which stands for electroencephalogram) to read and record that activity.

The EEG machine has patches, kind of like stickers, that we put on someone's head. These patches have special sensors that can detect the small electrical signals coming from the brain.

Then, the machine records all the signals and turns them into a graph, kind of like a picture. This graph helps doctors or researchers understand what's happening in someone's brain, like if they are sleeping, daydreaming or even having a seizure.

Isn't that amazing? EEG helps us learn more about how our brains work!
