Electric guitar

Okay kiddo, an electric guitar is a special kind of guitar that can make really loud music without having to shout or hit it really hard like you do with a regular guitar. It does this by using something called "electronics" to make the music louder.

Just like a regular guitar, an electric guitar has strings that you pluck with your fingers or a pick. But instead of the sound of the strings being amplified by the body of the guitar like in a regular guitar, the electric guitar has a small device called a "pickup" that catches the sound of the strings and sends it through a special cable to an "amplifier."

The amplifier is like a big speaker that makes the sound really loud, so you can hear it even in a big room with lots of people. You can also adjust the sound of the electric guitar with different knobs and switches on the amplifier to make it sound different.

Electric guitars can also have cool designs and colors, and famous musicians like to play them to create rock and roll, heavy metal, blues, and other types of music that make you want to dance and jump around.
