Energy-plus-house

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of an energy-plus-house? It’s a special type of house that can make its own energy and even give some back to the grid!

So, you know that most houses get their energy from electricity that comes from power plants far away. But an energy-plus-house has things called solar panels on its roof that soak up the sun’s energy and turn it into electricity for the house!

But that’s not all, these houses are also really good at using the energy they make in super efficient ways. For example, the lights in the house might turn off automatically when nobody is in the room. Or, the house might have something called extra insulation that helps keep the warm air inside in the winter and the cool air inside during the summer.

Now, you’re probably wondering what happens if the house makes more energy than it needs. Well, that’s when it can give back the extra energy to the grid, which is like a big system that supplies electricity to lots of different homes and buildings. So, when the energy-plus-house shares extra energy with the grid, it’s helping other people nearby who might need it!

Overall, an energy-plus-house is kind of like a superhero house that’s really good at making and using energy, and even helps other people out too!
