English draughts

English draughts is a game that you play on a square board with 64 little squares on it. It's a game for two people, which means that you need a friend to play with. Each player starts with twelve little round pieces, which are called "checkers" and they can only move diagonally on the board.

When the game starts, each player takes turns moving one checker at a time. You can move your checker forward one square, but only if there is an empty space in front of it. If there is an opponent's checker in front of you, and there is an empty square behind it, then you can jump over the opponent's piece and capture it. That means you get to remove their piece from the board and keep it as a prize.

The goal of the game is to capture all of your opponent's pieces, or to block them so they can't make any more moves. The player who does this first wins the game!

You can also "king" your checker by reaching the other side of the board. When you do this, you get to stack another checker on top of it, so it becomes a king! Kings can move diagonally in any direction, which makes them stronger than regular checkers.
