English literature

So, English literature is like a really fancy way of saying stories, poems, plays, and other things that people wrote in the English language a really long time ago and even up until now.

Lots of very important and famous writers like William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, and Charles Dickens have written English literature. They wrote stories about lots of different things like adventures, love, mystery, and making tough decisions.

When we read English literature today, we are able to go back in time and learn about what life was like in the past. It can be difficult to understand at first, but if you keep practicing and reading more, you'll start to understand and appreciate it more and more.
