ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Equal protection

Equal protection means treating everyone fairly and equally under the law. It's like being in a race where everyone gets the same starting line, the same rules, and the same chance to win. Nobody should have an advantage or a disadvantage because of things like the color of their skin, their gender, their religion, or their beliefs. In the United States, everyone has a right to equal protection under the Constitution, which means the government has to make sure that everyone is treated fairly and equally no matter who they are or where they come from.
