ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ethics of eating meat

Eating meat is a hard decision because it involves animals that cannot defend themselves. It is our ethical (moral) responsibility as humans to consider the welfare of animals when we decide to eat meat. That means we should respect animals and treat them well when they are alive, so they can have a good quality of life. We should also make sure that the animals are killed in a humane (compassionate) way, so that they don't suffer or feel pain. Eatingmeat is a personal choice, and people should be allowed to make the decision themselves. However, eating meat responsibly means understanding the ethical implications of consuming meat and choosing to do the right thing.
