ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Etiquette

Etiquette is like a set of rules to help us be polite and well-mannered around other people. Just like how we have rules for playing games, there are rules for how we should behave around others.

Etiquette includes things like saying "please" and "thank you," not interrupting others when they're talking, and waiting our turn to speak. It also includes things like using silverware properly when we eat and being careful not to make a mess.

When we follow etiquette, we show respect and consideration for others. It helps us to create a more pleasant environment and makes us more likable to others.

Sometimes we might not know what the right etiquette is for a particular situation, but we can learn by observing others and asking questions. As we grow and learn, we will become better at using good manners and making other people feel comfortable around us.
