Extra (acting)

Extra (acting) is when someone is in a movie or a TV show but they don't have any lines to say. The people who play extras are known as background actors because they are in the background of the story, just like decorations in a house. Extra actors just act out what their characters are doing but don't talk at all and are often seen in big groups or walking around pretending to do things like shop, drive, talk to other extras, etc. They are important because they help make the movie or show look realistic.
