ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Failure to elucidate

Okay kiddo, sometimes when people are trying to explain something, they forget to give enough information or details. That is called "failure to elucidate." It's like when you ask me how to do a puzzle, and I just say "put the pieces together" without telling you how to match the colors and shapes. That's not very helpful, right? So, when someone fails to elucidate, they need to try harder to give a clear and complete explanation, so that everyone can understand. Does that make sense?
