Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act

The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) is a law that protects your rights to protect your credit. FACTA helps make sure that businesses don't misuse your credit information, like spreading it around to other people or companies. For example, if you applied for a loan, the company you applied to can only use your credit information for that loan. They can't give it to other people or companies. FACTA also makes sure that if someone makes mistakes on your credit report, you have the right to get it fixed.
