Feudalism

Feudalism was a social and political system in medieval Europe which was based on a set of rules and customs. People were divided into different classes, with the king at the top, nobles (or lords) below him, and the laborers at the bottom. The king owned almost all of the land, and he gave parts of it to the lords. The lords then gave the peasants (or serfs) a small piece of land to work in return for their labor. The peasants were also obligated to provide food to their lords and were not allowed to leave their land or marry without their lord’s permission.
