ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fish migration

Fish migration happens when some fish need to travel long distances to survive. Every year, some types of fish will leave the water where they usually live, and swim to different places to lay eggs, find food, or find warmer or colder water. It's like a road trip for the fish! Fish use their fins and tails to swim and use Earth's magnetic field to help them find the way. The journey is dangerous, but if it helps them find food or a place to lay eggs, it's worth it.
