Flooded grasslands and savannas

Okay kiddo, do you know what grasslands and savannas are? They're big open areas where there's more grass than trees. Well, sometimes these places get lots and lots of rain, and when that happens, the water can't drain away fast enough. It starts to collect in big puddles and ponds, covering the grass and making everything all wet.

When this happens, we call it a flooded grassland or a flooded savanna. It's like a big swimming pool for animals that live there, like ducks, frogs, and alligators. They can swim around and have fun in the water.

But it's not all fun and games, sometimes floods can be dangerous for people and animals. They can wash away homes and crops, and cause a lot of damage. So, we have to be careful when we have lots of rain, and make sure we keep ourselves safe.
