Food systems

Hey kiddo, do you know what food systems are? They are basically all the people, activities, and resources involved in producing and getting us our food.

First, we have farmers who grow the fruits, vegetables, and crops we eat. They use special tools and techniques to make sure their plants are healthy and grow well.

Then, we have people who transport the food to nearby stores or even to different countries. They use trucks, planes, and boats to make sure the food gets to us safely.

Next, there are people who work in grocery stores, supermarkets or markets. They make sure that the food is displayed neatly in the store and help us find it.

Finally, there's us! We are the ones who choose and buy the food we want to eat. When we get home, we cook it and then enjoy it with our families and friends.

It's important to know where our food comes from and how it gets to us, because it helps us appreciate it more. Plus, we can make choices on what kind of food we want to eat, and how it's made.
