Forced assimilation

Forced assimilation means that a group of people is made to act, speak, and dress like other people in order to fit in or blend in with the main group in a society. For example, Native Americans in the United States were sometimes forced to give up their native languages, clothes, and ceremonies and learn English, Christianity, and American culture instead. This is unfair, and sometimes caused a lot of pain to the people who were forced to do these things.
