Gamma-ray burst

Gamma-ray bursts are short bursts of high-energy light that shoot out from the center of some galaxies. They last only a few seconds, but they are some of the brightest objects in the universe. Scientists think that gamma-ray bursts are caused by two very big stars crashing into each other. So, it kind of looks like a super-bright star exploding.
