Gay panic defense is when someone tries to excuse their bad behavior by saying it was because they were scared or panicked when they found out someone was gay, bisexual, or transgender. This defense has been used in court in some cases to try and get a decreased sentence or a not guilty verdict. It's not a very good defense because it implies that being gay or transgender is something to be afraid of or something that is wrong. This is not true and it is wrong to use this defense.
