Ginataang hipon

Ginataang hipon is a yummy dish from the Philippines. It is made with shrimps, which are small sea creatures with a hard shell on the outside and soft delicious meat on the inside.

To make ginataang hipon, we start by cleaning the shrimps and removing their shells. Shells are like a coat that shrimps wear to protect themselves. Once the shells are removed, we can see and enjoy the juicy shrimp meat.

Next, we cook the shrimps in a pot with a special ingredient called coconut milk. Coconut milk is made from the white flesh of coconuts, which is kind of like an exotic fruit with a hairy brown shell on the outside. The white flesh is grated and then squeezed to get the delicious coconut milk.

We pour the coconut milk into the pot with the shrimps, and then we add some more delicious ingredients like garlic, onion, ginger, and some spices to make it even tastier. Garlic is a small white thing that adds a special flavor when it is cooked, and onion is like a big round thing that can make you cry when you cut it.

Ginger looks like a small knobby root, and it has a spicy and warm taste that makes our dish more exciting. Spices are like magic powders that have different flavors, such as salt, pepper, and chili powder. They add some extra tastes to the dish.

After we cook all the ingredients together for a little while, the shrimps become tender and soak up all the flavors from the coconut milk and the other ingredients. They become very tasty and yummy!

Finally, our ginataang hipon is ready to be eaten. We can scoop it onto a plate or eat it with some rice, which is a plain white grain that grows in fields and when cooked is soft and filling. The combination of the flavors from the shrimps, coconut milk, and other ingredients make ginataang hipon an exciting and delicious dish to enjoy!
