Global Navigation Satellite System

A Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is a system that uses satellites to help people find their way around the world. It works by having at least 24 satellites orbiting the Earth, which send out signals that can be picked up by GNSS receivers. These receivers use the signals to work out a person's exact position, speed and direction. GNSS is very useful for helping people find their way in unfamiliar places, like a city or a countryside, or helping ships and planes navigate across oceans and continents.
