Glued laminated timber

Glued Laminated Timber (also called GLT) is a type of strong and durable wood that is made by gluing together thin layers of wood. Each layer is placed in different directions to make the laminated timber stronger. The glue is usually a waterproof kind of glue so it won’t come apart when the wood gets wet. It's a type of wood that is commonly used for building bridges and tall buildings because it is strong and can hold a lot of weight. That’s why glue laminated timber is often seen in tall buildings like skyscrapers!
