Group attribution error

Group attribution error is a mistake that happens when people assign an individual’s behavior to their group instead of their individual characteristics. It's like when a person wears the same shirt as lots of other people and you think that they all look exactly the same. Except with group attribution error, it's with how people behave. So if someone from a certain group does something good or bad, people might think that all people from that group do the same thing. This isn't usually true because every person is different and has different experiences.
