Guard of honour

Okay kiddo, so a guard of honour is when a group of people stand in a line and honor someone. It's like when you have a birthday party and your friends stand in a line and clap for you when you blow out the candles on your cake.

But guard of honour is more formal than that. It's often done for important people like leaders of countries or famous athletes. The people in the guard of honour wear special outfits and they stand at attention. They sometimes hold spears or swords, but don't worry, they're not going to use them to hurt anyone.

The important person who the guard of honour is honoring walks down the line of people and they salute or bow to the people in the guard. They might even shake hands with some of them. It's a way of showing respect and saying thank you.

So that's what a guard of honour is, a special way of showing respect and honor to an important person.
