ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

HTTP

HTTP stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol. It is a way for computers to talk to each other over the internet. It is like a language that computers use to understand each other. When you open a website or use some other type of Internet service, it is probably using HTTP. When you type a website like www.example.com into your browser, it will use HTTP to send a request to the computer that holds that website so you can view it. The computer will also use HTTP to send the website back to you so that you can see it. When you visit Facebook, for example, your computer talks to the Facebook computer using HTTP.
