Half-truth

Half-truths are statements that are partly true, but not entirely. They usually involve taking a fact out of context or leaving out part of the truth to create an untrue or misleading impression. For example, someone might say that a certain product is the fastest one on the market, but not mention that it is only the fastest in a certain category. That would be a half-truth.
