Hermeneutics

Hermeneutics is the study of understanding a text. It usually means interpreting a book or poem. To do this, hermeneutics looks at the words, sentences, and ideas in the text, and then tries to figure out what those ideas mean and why they are important. Hermeneutics can help us make sense of literature, history, and other works that we study.
