Christian views on the old covenant

The Old Covenant is an agreement between God and the people of Israel that was made many years ago. In the Old Covenant, God promised to protect and bless the Jewish people if they followed his laws and obeyed him. Christians believe that this agreement was fulfilled in Jesus and no longer applies. Christians believe that salvation is a gift from God, that cannot be earned by following the laws of the Old Covenant, but is available to anyone who puts their faith in Jesus.
