Impressment

Impressment is when an government forces someone to serve in the military against their will. Usually someone is impressed if they are needed, like in a war, and the country can't find enough volunteers to join the military. It's like a form of conscription, except it's usually against people who are from other countries. Impressment was very common in the past but is now outlawed.
