ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Industrial agriculture (animals)

Industrial agriculture is when farmers use machines and technology to raise lots of animals on a big farm. These animals might be cows, pigs, or chickens. The farmers try to make as much food as possible from these animals so that people can eat them.

To do this, they often keep the animals in small spaces and give them food that helps them grow fast. Sometimes the animals get sick because they are so crowded together, so the farmers give them medicines to make them feel better.

While this way of raising animals can make a lot of food, some people worry that it's not good for the animals or the environment. They think that animals should be treated better and that raising them this way can hurt the Earth.
