ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Injunction

An injunction is like a magic word that someone says when they want someone else to stop doing something. It's like when a teacher says "stop running" or "don't touch that" and the children have to follow those instructions.

But an injunction is a way for grown-ups to do the same thing. For example, if someone is doing something that is hurting someone else, like cutting down trees in a protected forest, the people who care about the forest can ask a judge to say the magic word "injunction" so the person has to stop cutting down the trees.

It's like when you play a game and someone says "time out", everything has to stop until the time out is over. When an injunction is ordered, it's like a time out for the person who is doing something wrong.

The injunction is a really strong word because if someone doesn't follow it, they could get in big trouble with the judge.
