ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Interactive skeleton-driven simulation

Interactive skeleton-driven simulation is like pretending to be a puppet master!

First, we have a pretend person, who has pretend bones inside them, just like we do! These bones are called a skeleton.

Next, we have a computer program that can move the pretend person around, by controlling how the skeleton moves.

But, the program doesn't just randomly move the skeleton - it knows how the bones are connected and how they move together in real life.

So, when we want the pretend person to jump, the computer program knows that we have to bend the pretend person's legs first, then push off the ground with their feet, and straighten their legs again in mid-air.

Because the program is so good at knowing how the skeleton moves, we can actually interact with the pretend person and move them around ourselves!

It's like we're playing a game, but instead of controlling a character with buttons and joysticks, we're controlling a pretend person with their very own bones.
