ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Intercultural communication

Intercultural communication is when people from different cultures communicate with each other. It could include talking, writing emails, or using technology such as webcams or Skype. When communicating with someone from another culture, it is important to be aware of different values, customs and beliefs. This helps ensure that everyone is being respectful and that misunderstandings don't occur. As an example, some cultures value direct communication whereas others may prefer to be more indirect. By being aware of these differences, it makes it easier to communicate effectively with people from different cultures.
