ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Intersection (land navigation)

An intersection is like when you draw two lines on a piece of paper and where they meet is called an intersection. In land navigation, an intersection is when you use two or more landmarks to find out exactly where you are on a map.

Here’s an example: let’s say we’re in a big forest and we want to know where we are. We can use a map and find two landmarks, like a big tree and a stream. We find those two things on the map and draw imaginary lines from them to where we are. And just like when we drew the two lines on the paper earlier, where those imaginary lines meet is where we are!

Intersections are very important for land navigation because they help us figure out where we are and where we need to go. It’s like a puzzle and we have to use our brains to get it right!
