Orienteering compass

An orienteering compass is a special tool that helps people find their way around when they are exploring outside. It has a long, skinny base with a flat, see-through circle on top that can spin around.

When you hold the compass flat in your hand, the long side points north, where the North Pole is. This helps you know which way you are facing.

The see-through circle on top has a bunch of numbers and lines on it that tell you how many degrees you are turning. So if you want to go 90 degrees to the right, you turn the compass until the number 90 lines up with a special little arrow on the base.

Once you figure out which direction you need to go, you can follow the compass and make sure you don't get lost. It's a really helpful tool for people who love to explore and go on adventures!
