Intrusion detection system
An Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is kind of like a security guard for your computer. Its job is to look out for bad things happening on the computer, like someone trying to break into it. The system watches for any suspicious activity and then it alerts you if anything looks wrong. Think of it like having someone there to watch out and protect your computer 24/7, so that if something bad does happen, you know about it right away.
