ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Intrusion prevention system

An intrusion prevention system is like a superhero that protects your computer or network from bad guys who try to sneak in and do harm. Imagine your computer is a castle and the bad guys are like sneaky thieves who want to steal something or break something. The intrusion prevention system watches the drawbridge (the place where the bad guys try to sneak in) and checks every visitor to see if they are good or bad. If they are bad, the superhero will sound the alarm and stop them from entering your castle. This way, your computer stays safe from bad guys and you can play, learn or work without worries.
