Iran and state-sponsored terrorism

Iran is a country in the Middle East and it has been accused of supporting people or groups that some people think are terrorists. This means the government of Iran allows or helps these people or groups do things that are meant to scare people and cause destruction and chaos. These people or groups do things like bomb places, kill innocent people, and take hostages. Some people and places in the world are afraid of Iran because of this.
