ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ital

"Ital" is actually not a word on its own, but it refers to a type of font called italic. Fonts are the different styles of letters that we see on the computer or in books.

Italic font is slanted to the right and usually used to emphasize or highlight certain words. Imagine if you had a magic pen that could write letters that were tilted to the right - that's what italic font is like!

Let's say you want to write a letter to your friend and tell them how much you loved the movie you watched yesterday. You could write it like this: "I really loved the movie we watched yesterday!" But if you wanted to emphasize how much you loved the movie, you could write it like this: "I *really* loved the movie we watched yesterday!" See how the word "really" is slanted to the right and stands out more? That's italic font!
